Anchored Shoring System Design for an Industrial Structure in Esenyurt

Abstract: Within the scope of an industrial structure project in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul, an "Anchored Bored Pile" system was designed to establish a safe excavation zone at a depth of 10 meters. This study benchmarks the computational accuracy of SETAF2018 in anchored shoring systems against PLAXIS 2D data.

Technical Solution: In response to the technical challenges presented by the soil profile, 80 cm diameter bored piles and prestressed anchors were implemented as the primary shoring system. In the model established via SETAF2018; the pile tip elevation, anchor free and bond lengths, and overall system stability were comprehensively analyzed. The software accelerated the engineering team's workflow by analyzing multi-stage excavation scenarios in seconds.

Why SETAF2018? While solving complex anchored systems with manual calculations or cumbersome software is time-consuming, SETAF2018 optimizes the process through its user-friendly interface. In the validation conducted for this project, the fact that maximum wall moments and displacements were virtually identical to PLAXIS 2D results proves that SETAF2018 is a reliable standard for professional engineering firms.
