Foundation Improvement Analysis for B+GF+10 Story Building in Fatih, Istanbul

Abstract: Due to liquefaction risk and insufficient bearing capacity identified in the foundation soil of a B+GF+10 story building project in the Fatih district of Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, the "Jet Grouting" method was implemented. This case study validates the computational power of SETAF2018 in complex soil improvement projects by benchmarking its results against PLAXIS 2D.

Technical Solution: Based on the results of the comprehensive site analysis, a soil improvement scheme utilizing 60 cm diameter Jet Grout columns was designed. Using the SETAF2018 module, both the pre-improvement liquefaction triggering potential was assessed and the post-improvement total bearing capacity and settlement values were calculated. The system was meticulously optimized by accounting for a total of 243 Jet Grout columns within the analysis.

For liquefaction analysis and 3D effective settlement calculations, SETAF2018 provides engineers with a rapid, reliable, and seamless workflow in full compliance with TBDY 2018 regulations. In this project, the total settlement value of 6.27 cm generated by SETAF2018 demonstrated a 98% correlation with PLAXIS 2D, further proving the software's accuracy in critical engineering decision-making.
