Anchored Shoring Design for Karadeniz Örme Industrial Facility

Abstract: Within the scope of the Karadeniz Örme industrial facility project in Esenyurt, Istanbul, the safety of a 12-meter deep foundation excavation was ensured through a robust "Anchored Bored Pile" shoring system. This case study validates the computational precision of SETAF2018 in multi-stage anchored systems by benchmarking its results against PLAXIS 2D data.

Technical Solution: Within the scope of the project, 80 cm diameter bored piles and three levels of prestressed anchors were implemented as the primary shoring system. The typical stiff clay structure of the region, known as the Güngören Formation, was taken as the baseline for the soil profile. Utilizing SETAF2018, the anchor free and bond lengths, pile tip elevation, and the overall stability of the system were analyzed in a matter of seconds.

Why SETAF2018? In projects involving numerous variables such as anchor angles, prestressing forces, and multi-stage excavation, SETAF2018 provides engineers with significant engineering speed. The cross-checks conducted in this project demonstrate that the bending moment and displacement results provided by SETAF2018 align almost perfectly with PLAXIS 2D outputs, once again proving the software's reliability.
